DIPLOMA CEREMONY

After six months of training with a tailormade program elaborated by teachers, spread between the University of New Caledonia and Prony Resources NC site, students of the first promotion of the University Degree in Metallurgy that counts 54% of women, has achieved their training and got their diplomas.

The University Degree in Metallurgy, recognized as Leaving Cert +1, has been set up in partnership with the University of New Caledonia, in order to transmit to students knowledges in physics and chemistry related to the production process. Concretely, this UD trains to the polyvalent job of process operator

At the end of the cursus, a work placement has permit to most of trainees to link the theory and the practice on the ground and better understand and anticipate their future role at Prony Resources.

Prony Resource is launching its university degree with the university of New Caledonia

The President of Prony Resources, Béatrice Pierre, has signed on Monday the 25th of July 2022 a framework agreement with the President of UNC Mrs Catherine Ris with first immediate effect the creation of a university degree in metallurgy, with a leaving cert +1 level, preparing to the job of metallurgical process operator.

The convention between UNC and Prony Resources also opens the way for many other collaborations between the large mining and metallurgical operator of Great South and the university.

A wide recruitment campaign is held since the end of 2021. Teams of Prony Resources were at the job fair with many offers – all jobs wanted.

Leaving cert +3 to 5, BTS, leaving cert Pro Maintenance – all kind of levels and profiles were at the rendez-vous on the stand of Prony Resources. In total, 153 applications received.
